I'm thinking somewhere between 600 and 1000cfm is in the ball park? I'm planing on buying one of thoes inline fans mounted inside 6in duct that mounts up in the actic with a back draft flap. It will be activated by a humidity control switch that turns it on and off. I'm looking for the lowest cfm that will do the job. :)

Calculate the cubic feet of your bathroom (length x width x height). Divide by 60 (the number of minutes in an hour). Multiply the result by 8 (the number of recommended air changes per hour). Note: This calculation gives you just the minimum required. Thus, 600-1000 cfm would be adequate. In addition, one must remember to run the vent/fan during bathing and at least 20 minutes afterwards to exhaust excess humidity. Vent should be vented to the outdoors and not into the attic.

After the motor I will pipe it over to the sofit. Forgot to add that. I'm thinking if the fan needs to be ran for some time after, maybe the humidity control switch won't work. It looks like a digital timer is the way to go.

Thats half a house!... I'd use 3 standard bathroom fans that do about 150-200 CFM each and spread em out...you could put them on a spring wind type timer switch used for outside lights.

I decided to go with 430cfm with a levitron switch that has 3 preset programs with push button pad with led lights. It comes with 10min,20min,30min programs. I will mount the fan right out side the stand up shower door. This should take care of the humidity comeing from the bath room?
