hello all - happy holidays.

I recently noticed that our bathroom walls have some kind of mld or mildew formation. Its yellowish in color (fungi) and it appears as though several streaks of water drops came from the ceiling. Imagine if you let water drops from the edge of ceiling and the wall. The water drop leaves a mark on the wall and at the end you observe this fungus. I noticed, there are almost 20-30 such streaks on all 4 sides. Its probably my fault, I never keep the doors open even after showers and the exhaust fan is never on. How can fix this situation? Do you think my walls could be damanged? Is there anything major to be concerned? Please let me know.

thanks in advance.

You answered your own question with what you DON'T do. During and after shower use (20 to 30 minutes after) run the exhaust fan. Keed the doors open at least during that period. Wiping down the wet surfaces will also help.
As far as damage, you will have to clean the areas to see if it damaged the painted surfaces. If you feel it is a fungus or mold/mildew, use a solution of 1 part bleach and 4 parts water to clean with. Good luck.
