Hi,
I armed my system and left tonight, when i returned the alarm wasn't armed and the service light was on. The only other light was the fire alarm light flashing rapidly. I looked up what this means and it seems one of the smoke alarms is troubled (does that mean not responding or something?) but i can't enter anything into the keypad. I have tried all the keys (entering the master code, prog code, *2, *7 etc..) but there is no lit keys and the keypad seems to not respond to anything. I cycled the AC power which didnt do anything. Is there something else i should try? The next step i guess is removing the battery but i dont want to lose any settings/sound the alarm and not be able to turn it off!!
Has anyone had this problem before?
Cheers,
Mike

Cycling power won't lose any settings other than the internal clock. If I had to guess, I'd say to check the power pack. It sounds like you lost the AC power, and the panel is now running on a slowly failing battery.
You should have 16vac at the AC power terminals.

Thanks Ron, you're a legend! I had knocked out the ac when i was in the roof a couple of days ago, and hadn't noticed :wall: I reset the time and date stuff, the power light is flashing so i guess i will need a replacement battery... are these easy to come by?
Hope you have a merry xmas :)

Yes, the batteries are pretty easy to find. Give it 24 hours, if the battery doesn't take a charge by then, it won't.
Places like Radio Shack, a lot of home centers (these type of batteries are used in emergency lights), and battery dealers like Interstate generally stock them. If there is a local security/fire alarm dealer, they will also generally sell them over the counter.
