I see a brown paper after I removed the top wallpaper. This wallpaper look/feels like a grocery bag. As Mr. ‘ProWallGuy” said, it looks like I went too far and removed the drywall facing paper. The wall itself is pretty dry.

What should I do to this brown paper exposed drywall before I prime it?

Any help is very much appreciated.
Thanks

Prime it with a good coat of Zinsser's GARDZ. This will lock down the surface, and keep it from bubbling when applying a latex or acrylic primer/finish. After the Gardz is dry, lightly sand it with a sanding pole/fine sanding screen. Remove all the dust, then prime it with an acrylic primer for paint tinted close to your finish color.

I'm assuming these walls are to be painted and not re-hung with w/c?
