I've used various cleaners made for laminate floors and I now have a sticky film that I can not seem to clean off. Does anyone know what I can use???

If wood laminate (engineered wood), mix 1 cup white vinegar in 1 gallon water. Clean a section at a time, toss an old towel on the floor, and rub back and forth with foot. This should restore shine and prevent streaking. If plastic laminate, you can use the vinegar water solution or 1/3 cup ammonia in one gallon of water. Again, clean a section at a time and dry before moving on to the next section.

Plastic laminate can be cleaned with ammonia and water solution to remove residues. Clean a section at a time, rinse and dry before moving on to the next section. Maintain with vinegar/water (50/50) solution.
Engineered wood must be maintained as you would solid hardwood flooring. Vinegar water solution can be used as above. If purchasing a commercial cleaner, make sure label specifically states safe for polyurethane finish. Bona Kemi's cleaner is recommended by many prefinished flooring manufacturers.
Whether plastic laminate or engineered wood flooring, avoid the use of cleaners that leave residues on the floor. Avoid waxes and oils and products containing waxes and oils. Read cleaning product labels. If in doubt, call the customer service number and find out the ingredients. Avoid treated dust mops, wet Swiffers, and 'safe for all floors' products. Avoid products that contain silicone like many of the popular furniture polishes. Products that leave residues can dull and soften finishes over time. They can also build-up to the point of a layer of sticky residue.
