I installed laminate florring over concrete and left a 10 X 12 center open to put in carpet. How much longer than the Z-bar does the carpet need to be? And how close should the carpet be to the carpet reducer of the laminate? Thanks

about the length of the top of the z-bar, there's a little fudge room there so don't sweat it.
