I'm trying to help my elderly mother, who lives 900 miles from me,with her alarm. She unplugged the transformer with a dead battery and now the keypad lights up but nothing works and there are no troubles. After battery replacement does the system need to be reset? Any help would be appreciated.

As long as she didn't manage to blow one of the fuses on the main board, the system should start right back up once power is restored. She'll still have to set the system clock. It needs AC power first, then battery, or else the system will not restart (the 60hz from line power initializes the circuitry).

Thanks for your help - we have her try that. Hopefully she didn't blow the fuse
