Gutted bathrooms, now about to start installing and I have some questions about the order of things. First, in the upstairs bathroom I'm putting in 5/8 ply over the existing floor (1/2 ply on 2x8 16" OC 9ft span) and then Ditra + tiling.

1) What order do things get done in? IE: Subfloor, vanity, tub, Ditra, tiles, toilet?
2) I'm putting in a fibreglass 2pc tub with surround. I was going to use CB behind the 2pc that goes on the wall. Is this necessary or should I use greenboard? Also, I'm assuming I just continue the board down to the top of the tub lip and then stop there?
3) In the basement bathroom the floor is just concrete. I was just going to put ditra on top of that, but my fear is it may be cold. If I put in a subfloor this may raise the level of the floor too much so that it would be a step up from the hallway. How should I handle this?

thanks!

1. Subfloor, tub,Ditra, tiles, vanity, toilet. ( you can install the vanity before you do the ditra and tile, i prefer to install it over the tile though.)
2. IIRC, greenboard is being discontinued(too many mold problems)they don't carry it here at the big boxes anymore.
3. if you are worried about a cold floor go with a radiant electric floor heater. I believe schluter makes one.
