I am trying to nail tack strps into two areas : both doors where the carpet will meet laminate I CANNOT nail these things into the slab. I have wasted about 16 feet of this stuff so far trying to nail it in. The nails are always bending. When I do get one in, the next nail on the same strip won't go in. I'm at my wits end here. What am I doing wrong?

Must be concrete!

Now that you have the concrete all pitted, I bet it is hard.

Go buy a tube of liquid nails and a caulking gun.

Glue it down and wait a day to stretch.

Or you could hammer drill, then use plastic wall anchors and screws or roofing nails.

A hammer drill, 1/8" drill bit and 7/8" aluminum plugs. Works like a charm. Don't worry too much about not being able to get the pins to stick in the concrete. Takes a special touch and even with that you're not always guaranteed to sink them. Gluing the strip down works too and would be more convenient if you don't have a hammer drill already (they are pricey).
