We have a tub/shower surround that is 18 years old. Where the surround sits on the tub it needs caulking.... the old stuff is nasty and has water rust stains.
I want to completely strip the stuff off of the shower, cut out all the caulking, scrub it within an inch of it's life, and then reseal it. I did my research and NOT replacing the tub and surround will pay for the new sink and toilet. (And I think I'm going to build my cabinet so that will be another story all together.)
What supplies do I need and where can I find out what I need to do.
I know I must.
Scrape the old caulk out.
Scrub the tub/surround within an inch of it's life.
Reseal the fiberglass stuff
Recaulk.
Anything else? And where I can find how-to's? I looked everywhere to find a search button on this board but I failed. If there is a link to a previous thread I'm just as happy to go there!

Hope you find what you need. The info you gave is not enough to suggest a method. What is the tub made of, what kind of caulk is it. and where did the rust stains come from are a few ?'s.
