Okay, this is kinda gross but when my son was really sick last week he accidently had diarrhea on the couch. I first cleaned it really well with just a damp cloth, then Resolve-d the heck out of it. When it dried, I Febreze-d it. Major smelly still. So I bought Kids-N-Pets which is an amazing product that I have used successfully on smelly smells before...I really let it soak in and then Febreze-d it again. I repeated THREE times (over 3 days), with lots of scrubbing. Smell is only slightly better and I just can't stand to sit on the couch even though I know is has to be clean by now! HELP.

Enzyme cleaners for organic stains must be given time to digest stains and odors. Repeat applications may be necessary. While upholstery can be cleaned, it is next to impossible to clean the padding inside. If cushions can be unzipped to open, you can access padding to clean and spray. If cleaning is to no avail, an option is to have an upholstery install new cushions inside upholstery. Liquids tend not only to settle downward but outward 3-5 times the size of the affected surface area, so clean surrounding areas where feces was spilled.

Before you do anything else..i would suggest...if the cushion can be removed..take it out and flood it with water and wet vac out as much as possible and then toss it in the washer on the spin cycle only..spin it out and let air dry..if odor remains treat with enzyme and try again
for the cover..i would rinse all of the resolve and everything else out of it...then if odor persists..treat with enzyme and try again
if cushion can not be removed..you may want to consider have the cushion taken out and the cover being installed over new cushion after cover is cleaned...like twlevepole said its going to be hard to remove the contamination in the cushion

You can also vacuum-pack the enzyme into the cushion to ensure that even the center of the cushion is treated. Soak the cushion (with cover on) with your enzymes, place it in a plastic trash bag, take the hose of a wet vac (shop vac) and place it against the cushion, then wrap the bag closed around the hose. Turn your vac on. This will not only pull all air out of the cushion, but will also pull the enzymes through the cushion, even to the center.
