We are moving into a new house and just noticed that the newly installed gas water heater (located in a hall closet) has a constant high pitched noise and is really LOUD! I don't know the brand but I'm thinking of asking the builder to replace it. Is this fixable or should we buy a different one?
thanks!

It might not be the water heater at all. Need the brand name to know if this is common for its history, and has anyone checked for high water pressure, was the water heater inspected after installation.

is the brand and it's the Power Vent model. It hasn't been inspected yet and we didn't check for high water pressure. How do you do that? Also, I've heard that Non-power Vent models are less noisy, is that true and what constitutes a need for Power venting?
thanks for your help,
D
