I have a 1 yr old 2.5 ton heat pump with a honeywell 8300 thermostat and electric furnace as a aux & em heat. I have the thermost programed to lower the heat to 70 at 11:30 pm and to raise to 72 at 8:00 am.
At 8:00 am IT wil do this these steps
1 turn on heat pump
2 run for about 1 min then turn on aux heat
3 run with heat pump and aux for about 1 min
4 run with just heat pump for a questonable amount of min the heat pump will shut down.
The blower will still run and the temp is still at 70
5 turn on em heat until it reaches 72
6 switch back to auto every thing works as normal just has to problem in the morning.
Would any one now what the problem is.
sorry about writing skills , the spelling long post
Hope you understand what i'm tryng to say.

At 8am, does the system starts right away at 8am or does it start like an hour early?
If no, the sounds like the smart recovery is not turned on.
If the smart recovery is on, it will slowly bring the temp up and it will try avoid turing on the emg heat.
If you have your install Maunaul, go into the Advance set up, and see if the smart recovery is turned on.

I'll try that and see if that will help. Both the electric and heat pump would shut down with only the blower running before it would get to new set temp. I would have turn off the power at the breaker to get the system to run again.
