Main board is 10ADTED, single keypad is 6139 (just installed, used to have 6128). The keypad address is 31.

After installing the 6139, I tried (*)+(#) while powering up, but it will not enter programming mode, which tells me it was locked out by the ADT installer (The forum threads are very helpfull!!) I'd like to perform a system default... Can you please help?

Many thanks!

There is no hardware system default for ademco based vista clones. If it's an ADT installation, then there's a 90% chance that the installer code is 6321. Failing that, have someone hold down * + # while you restore power; on most models, this bypasses the installer lockout.

Thank you for the quick reply!

I tried 6321+8+2+"new master code" but nothing happens. Then I tried 6321+8+2+"new master code"+"new master code", no luck. Also tried holding down * and # while restoring power but the keypad displays "Standy - busy D1" for about 50 seconds, then the READY light comes on.

Do I need a new control board?

Short of a lucky guess, I think so. There is a way that all local programming access can be locked out using the downloading software. It was rarely used by ADT, but it looks like they did in this case. All you can do is start with a new motherboard.
