We left a stainless steel, copper bottomed pot (2 QT.) cookiong on the stove burner for some time after all the water had boiled out of it. We scrubbed the black out of the bottom with a steel wool pad. There are still tiny black pitted spots on the bottom of the pot. How do we remove the spots? And if we can't, is the pot still usable?
Thanks

Damage done to pot is irreversible. There should be no health hazards with continued use of pot.
