My alarm system battery recently died...I've replaced the battery and yet the system keeps setting off every 24 hours...this has been around 3:00 a.m. I have all green lights, though the low battery/fuse blown light is flashing. I really don't have a clue as do what to do next....help?

Normally just changing the battery does the trick. It self tests every 24 hours. There is a fuse under the edge of the heatshield on the main PC board, sometimes if a battery fails in a specific way, it blows that fuse (some batteries fail in a dead short).

If you are getting 13-14 volts at the battery connectors (without a battery connected), then the only thing I can think of is to turn the little switch in the bottom left of the control off for a couple of minutes and then turn it back on. This restart forces a battery test, which should clear the problem (assuming that the new battery is good).

Thanks...I had already shut the system off to reset. I'll check the fuses to see if that is the problem. Jackie

Thanks for this year-old post. I had the same problem: I replaced the old 5Ah battery with a 7.5Ah battery after it stopped recharging and started beeping every 24 hours. But even after resetting the system, the 24 hour beeps kept coming. The F3 fuse was blown in the box, although it took a very good light to see it. As soon as I find a 2.5A 250V 312 fuse to replace it with, I hope to have my problems resolved. I hope the fuse open prevented my new rechargeable battery from being completely discharged meanwhile.
