Hello everyone. I'm having a problem trying to figure out how to remove the collar on my Schlage lockset so I can screw it back together (it started loosening up over time). I see an access hole but I just can't figure out what to do with it. I've provided two pictures maybe someone can give me a tip?

Hmm so i found out you need a spaner wrench? Is this part threaded or just pressed on? I'm going to guess threaded.

Thanks for the pics. Looks like an inside lever that got so loose you were able to break/cut the screws to remove it?
The Schlage will have a retainer visible through the hole when the handle is rotated. Once you rotate it and see the retainer you need something small and strong like a heavy paper clip or a drill bit to depress the retainer while pulling on the handle, to remove it. A Schlage spanner wrench has a poker to do this but it is not necessary.
I don't believe you have a threaded rose there, but I have been wrong before, ;) if you did there would be a similar hole in the edge for the spanner to engage. Even if it does use a spanner, since it is off the door, you should be able to get a good enough grip to turn it without.
Do you have any idea if this is an A or D series Schlage? I think it is an A but it has been a while since I have worked on a Schlage commercial lever.
Let us know how it goes.
