Hello,

Here is my scenario.
I have a lennox heating unit in the basement. The problem is, is that the unit keeps turning off. So I go to the basement, and open the panel which protects the wiring (picture below). I hear that the fan is on, but there are no flames seen in the little peep hole of the silver box.

SO I hit the on off-swtich on the side of the unit, and turn the unit off. Then, I turn it back on, and I hear a clicking noise...then the flames come on. You give it about 15-20 seconds, and they turn off again.

**Also, when I tighten the wires that are connected to the ignition box, I have found that it makes the flames come on sometimes.
**Also, when I hear the clicking noise, I look into the box where the flames are and I see a little spark running down near some wires. It is pretty fait, but it's orange.

Video of the event. (you can't hear the cliking noise because the camera did not pick it up)

Hopefully you guys can help. I have already called a technician, but it will be atleast a day or two before he arrives.

Thanks in advance. Let me know if you need more information.

sounds like flame sensor need to be cleaned to me.

should be a single rod on the other end from the ones that spark. usually has an orage wire going to it.

Hey shank,

I looked all over, but I couldn't find a rod to clean. Would you be able to point it out in the pictures that I have provided?

Here is actually another picture providing a better view of the whole unit:

Thanks for your help.

does it ever stop clicking when it lights?

I think the small yellow wire going into the box with the peephole in it should go to the flame sensor. lightly rub a little with steel wool to clean it.

Nope it does not stop clicking even when the flames start.

Thanks again.

How would I replace the flame sensor? The technician who came over replaced the pilot ignition box, but the problem still occurs.
