Hi all !! I'm new here and BOY does this place sound like one I'm going to be using a LOT in the very near future!! :cheshire:
Ok...here's my problem. For the LIFE of me, I can't seem to remember what the heck you call the people who sharpen knives and scissors for a living!! I'm trying to find one where I live, and I've hit the proverbial brick wall :wall: !! Or, the name of a type of shop or store that does this wonderful trade. I have knives as well as scissors as small as those you would use on cuticles, and I don't care the cost. I remember when I lived in Orchard Park, NY that there was a store at the Mall that did this...but my memory escapes me now. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!

A "shear grinder" comes to mind as a term to describe a person who sharpens scissors.
You might also look under "knife and scissor sharpening".

Most cutlery stores know someone who sharpens knives and scissors. I do these myself with a kit I bought a few years ago made by spyderco.

Check with local fabric stores. Many have scissor sharpeners come monthly.
