I have no idea what type of curtains to get for my dining room. The room is 12 x 12, white wainscoting and crown moulding. The floor is natural white oak. I haven't purchased an area rug yet. The walls are a shade of khaki with a hint of green, the color changes alot depending on lighting. The furniture is a walnut (shaker/mission style). The rest of the house is similar, colonial, built-ins, white trim, neutral colors, generally formal designs. I'm more interested in type, texture and size, vice specific colors.

since your furniture is shaker/mission, i'd keep it simple and straight-lined. meaning, no swags & cascades, no ruffles, nothing froofroo, nothing cutesy or too country, like tab tops. i would do straight panels on a dec iron rod with either ring clips or ties. or if you don't like that look, you could do traversing pinch pleats (or simple stationary panels - depending on if you need them to draw or not) under a tailored valance or cornice board. the latter could be either upholstered or made of crown moulding made & painted out the same as your trimwork in the room.
