Can someone tell me if this is the correct order. I want to texture my walls with a texture gun to the knockdown style. 1. Prime the walls. 2. Spray on texture ( joint compound). Paint wall. Any other advice is appreciated.

Thank you.

I would texture first, then prime. The only time I've known of anyone priming before knock down was when the texture was the final coat [no paint] on the ceiling. Any way you do it you would still need to prime the texture before appling finish coat of paint.
