Our ghw heater was leaking slowly from the plastic tube hanging down from the temp/pressure relief valve. It filled a quart bucket about once a week. We called a plumber who installed a pressure regulator on the main water supply line under the house and replaced the t/p valve on the heater. But now it's leaking worse, It's filling the same quart bucket everyday! I checked the entire water heater, no other leaks anywhere else, no bad seals, no rust holes. Pressure into the house is set at 60 psi. Haven't noticed any difference in hot water temp. or duration. I called the plumber back but haven't gotten him to return my call as of yet. What could be going on with the heater. I can't afford to keep hiring plumbers. Thanks for any input.

The T/P valve only operates when the temperature or pressure exceeds the settings on it. Try turning down the temp on the heater. The Plumber should not charge you if any other cause that he has already fixed is at fault. Good luck.
