Every cycle on my washer works fine, but I have to manually turn the dial to the next cycle. Is the timer the only thing that might need to be repaired or are there other potential problems?

If your washer fills with water & goes into the agitation cycle but won't advance from there, I'd say the timer is bad. Dave
