my basement just had about a foot of water in it and my sump pump didnt work. The water level got about 5 inches up on the motor on my arcoleader oil furnace. Ive gotten the water out, but now when i press the reset button,
the furnace turns on but there is no pilot light.I am fairly ignorant about furnaces but any help woulod be appreciated.

I think it would be best to get pro in on this..

If this were my house and this happened to me, besides swearing, I would then set up a fan and maybe even blow a hairdryer on things - for a long time, before I ever attempted to start the thing up. Water and electricity/motors don't mix. Maybe if the basement were cold I may also put a space heater that blows, on it for quite a while.

I agree with Jay. Your burner motor may have dodged the bullet but the ignition transformer may not have. It would indeed be a good idea to call in a local pro & have the boiler gone over. Be sure to tell him/her about the flood.
