Redoing bathroom and have old Aluminum wid.I am thinking of vinyl window to repalce. Maybe in a few syears I will do vinyl siding.Right now I have Abestis (?) shingles. When I install win should I keep it flat with the shingles I have or set it about 1/2-1 in out for new siding (in future). I plan to just cut around the metal win (outside) and slide in vinyl.I was told I could get the size I need. Any Ideas.

If I was doing it, I would measure the rough opening, and order a window that is 3/4" smaller than the rough opening. The window that I ordered would have a nailing flange. Then I'd cut back the asbestos siding so that the window could be installed and flashed directly onto the sheathing (the sheathing is the surface your asbestos siding is nailed to.) The nailing fin would then be covered up by a trim board, and wrapped with trim coil.
