I just bought a fixer upper and want to start working on the master bath.

I want to change the flooring, paint the walls, refinish the cabinets, and replace the toilet. What should I do first? I was thinking the floors first but I dont want to get paint on the new floors when I paint the walls. Suggestions? This is my first big home improvement project so I am a little clueless.

Thanks in advance for your help,
Heather

I would demo the floor if that is called for then paint the ceiling and walls, install the new floor then the cabinets and toilet.

Like yourself I'm no pro but I would think you should start from the bottom and work your way up, this means doing the flooring first. Don't be concern about getting paint on your new floors, this is what we have drop cloth for. My order would be flooring, cabinets (since your refinishing and not replacing) toilet, fixtures, walls then lighting
