I had to move a tv cable wire from one side of the bedroom to the other side. While pulling it thru the floor the little round cable connector came off the cable.....I'm trying to connect it back on to the cable. Do I have to have special tools for this or what. It may be called a RF or something....You have the black cable on the outside, then the silver, then the white insulation, then the little copper cable. I have stripped those and still won't slide up in the RF connector like it should...And after crimmping it, it won't stay on. Help.

You need a new end, and a crimper. The kind with a separate ring can sometimes be crimped with norma pliers.

What is the new end called? An RF connector?

An F connector. You will need to get one for the type of cable you have.

They also have some that just screw on. Alwalys work great for me...Yes Wal-Mart or any hardware store will have them.

I buy the crimp kind from the dollar store (4/$1), and use a $10 crimper. The twist on ones aren't that good, really.
