New construction was installed last month.
This unit has never made noises until last week. When the fan shuts down it bangs. We had the installer out he took the fan off and put some foam around it. Now the compressor on the heat pump buzzes before the fan comes on. I would like to know if this is normal of a heat pump due to colder outside temp. or maybe something he did?

I presume you meant Trane?
Are you adept as a DYI'er as to doing something simple like feeling where the buzz is coming from, exactly? I'd say it's not normal. Not if it is something so discernible that when covers are on, that you really pay atention to this. Obviously, you must be under warrantee and I would not allow your warrantee to expire while somone says, "Oh, they all do that". I'd get some more opinions - even from the factory if you have to.
