i have an rca bigscreen, mfr date 1998 that wont turn on all the time. i got it and was told that it just wouldnt turn on. it had sat for months. i plugged it in and it worked fine for about 5 days. then it turned off and wouldnt turn back on.
then a few days later i plugged it back in and it turned on for a minute, then off again.
someone please help me get this thing working again.

Hi, I'm experiencing the same problem. got one of the 56' big screen rear projection, with a ctc195 chassis.
they said it just stopped working the day before, I got it, plugged it in and it worked,
next day it stopped working, now aparently after opening it up, I'm getting the propper 150v raw B+ across c208 and it will powerup and then turn off about 2 seconds later, I then noticed that one of the lamps had leaked fluid on top of the eeprom. so I ended up desoldering the eeprom and cleaning the area then putting it back. now it doesnt respond at all. I have a feeling I messed up one of the circuit traces. so I have to go back and mess with it some more. my problem is trying to disconnect the HV power wire from the flyback. so that I can work on the chassis on a counter, instead of hunched over behind the tv. does any one have suggestions?
if you look on the left side at the main power board there is an IC about 75 pins long that might have fluid on top of it. you may be having the same issue I am.
