I need to remove the screen on my 50" Toshiba RPTV. I have removed the speaker grilles and the front fascia but all I see are 4 screws that look like they are holding the screen in place. Am I going about this right? I'm a little nervous about pulling or lifting once those screws are out. My understanding is that the screen should lift and then tilt forward.

What I'm trying to do is get at the mirror to clean it. I have developed a yellow "spot" that is visible in the centre of the screen. I am hoping it is only dirt anyway.

Any help would be appreciated.

do not carry on stripping your unit down.....let someone who is qualified to carry out this work do it for you.....a rear screen projection tv is not very forgiving if you mess up

After looking closer at how it comes apart (and the stuff that can break) that is the conclusion I came to as well.

In your opinion though, before I waste money having someone come out and look at it, does the yellow spot I describe sound like dirt on the mirrors or is it more likely a blown CRT or burnt screen?

Thanks.
