Hi All:
My wife and I just bought an old house and I'd like to repair the many ill-maintained double hung windows. The biggest problem seems to be condensation -- which builds up and makes the windows opaque. First, what causes this? And second, how does one repair the problem? I"m only semi-handy, so layman's terms about be helpful.
Thanks

Unless you can lower your humidity in the house to 0% (not possible) or prevent it from getting cold out in the winter (also not possible) there isn't much you can do about condensation on your windows. Storm windows can often help, but are not 100% of the solution. Really, there is no solution. If you have windows, you'll have condensation.
