Br111 instructions say "On the first row of flooring use 6d or 8d flooring nails to top nail surface of flooring and countersink (pre-drilling nail holes will prevent splits)".

I've been looking for nails at HD but can't find any flooring nails. I see lots of 6d nails called bright commons and bright finishes. Are these the right nail? Is countersink just a type of nail?

And what does first row mean? First row of the room or any wood that is adjacent to the wall?
