We pulled up our carpet and want to sand the floors but there is this red glue that has completly hardened like concrete. Is there a sovlent or something to remove this more easily than just sanding?

Try Goof-Off (Goo remover) (seen they have different type of stuff to remove different type of things but don't know precisely which one will do) or chisel it out...hopefully the red glue isn't all over the floor everywhere :( . Pain in the bottom and a lot of work!

Sand it!
Your not going to do anything with solvents, but make refinishing a nightmare.
Sand it and finish it.
