The timer/clock on my gas oven no longer works and was wondering if I can still use the self cleaning function? Has anyone had the same problem?

I would not recommend using the self cleaning cycle if the clock/timer does not work. May cause problems. The self cleaning cycle depends upon the timer and clock working. Cycle may not shut down and door lock not likely to release.
