We bought a sliding glass door for our tub, however the new slider is perfectly square and the corners of the fiberglass tub is rounded. Without some sort of adjustment there is a 7/8 inch space between the side jams and the bottom rail. Is there an easy solution, or maybe a product to raise the edge of the bathtub by that much?
Thanks

langjk,
7/8" is allot but is there any chance you can cut a diagonal on the side rail and bottom track?
Is the side rail large enough to still allow you to prevent water escaping?
I have had to cut these on some applications and then applied silicone caulk - it came out great.
Just a thought

Dear Langjk, You didn't mention how high you would need to raise the sill in order to have the side jams ly flat, but if it is not to high, try using a piece of the new vinyl (all plastic) boards as a build up. They are 3/4" thick and you can get them in 4" widths and 8' lengths. Rip it to the same width as the sill, then use a silicone adhesive to stick it down to the tub rim. Let it cure for 24hrs. Then apply the sill to it also using the silicone adhesive to adhere the sill to the plastic board. Note that the all vinyl board is not the same as composit board. Hopefully the 3/4" rise of the sill permits the side jams to ly flush on the walls.
Good luck

I'm with Doug, personally ran into this with every bathremodel we do since many of the newer tubs have the radiused edge on ledge of tub. easiest and cleanest install is like Doug mentioned, either angle cut the bottom back side of the wall track, or like use, we use a belt sander and try to get an exact radius match on the wall track that the tub has. more time consuming, but very very nice looking results when done.
no offense since it's a different idea, but imo the vinyl board would look "landlord" fixed:)

No offense taken. I agree that beveling the side rails to fit is the optimal solution. But the original question was "Is there an easy solution, or maybe a product to raise the edge of the bathtub by that much".
To all, have a great TG
