I have a b&s 8 hp motor and i plan on changing the crankshaft. What do i have to do? thanks :D

need details why? side valve engine? horizontal or vertical crank? remove engine, remove flywheel, remove oil sump, remove cam, remove endcap off connecting rod, pull crank.

side valve engine, horizontal crank. I know how to remove it but i thought maybe there was timming or something involded in re-installing the new crankshaft. :confused:

if its the same engines crank going in, as coming out, line up the timing marks, its as simple as that. the rest of the timing is the flywheel key. if its a different one, you may have to either retard, or advance by going up or down certain teeth past the mark on the cam till its going right.
