I've owned this TV since '98 and it's worked perfectly. Unfortunately, it began having a convergence problem on the left side of the screen about a month ago. I tried to adjust the convergence manually, but this had no effect. While watching the TV the convergence would go out, then snap back in focus, then go out again. This process would usually take a while to manifest itself and didn't seem to increase as I watched the TV. One night I turned on the TV, the picture came on, then there was a big "click" from the TV and the screen went dark. The standby power light stays on and I hear the same click sound each time I attempt to turn on the TV. Any suggestions?
