I am doing a floor with MCU. The only sheen I have been able to purchase is gloss. talked to a professional floor guy, he says he puts down 3 coats of MCU and the does a 4h coat with a satin oil based urethane to get away from a gloss finish.
He claims this will give a very tough finish. He seems very knowledgeable, but I am wondering how much the 4th and final coat dictates the overall toughness of the final product?
Thanks

Most only put 2 coats of gloss and a final coat of semi gloss, so there is more clarity in the finish and not all clouded from the dulling agents in the semi gloss.

Two coats of gloss MCU and then one coat of semi-gloss regular urethane??

Semi-gloss or satin. You get better clarity with the clearer gloss coats first.
