As I moved my way down the hall, I have come to a dilemma. The carpet and padding in the bedrooms that the laminate must go up against in the doorway is too tall for the 4-in-1 moulding with carpet transition. The height of the carpet and padding is about 1/2 inch over the top of the moulding. How can I transition and not make it look funny. If I butt the moulding up to the carpet as is,you can see some foam and the entire carpet cross section. Help!!! Thanks.

An endcap molding, and carpet tackstrip.

Tuck the carpet neatly behing the endcap molding.

I will try that. It just seems like the carpet and padding are soo thick and will not meet the end cap close enough.

Using the carpet tackstrip, also means the padding will be cut back about an inch and a half under the carpet. Your carpet won't be as high when it meets the laminate.

Correct.

The padding is not over the tackstrip.

Tackstrip runs around the perimeter of the room where carpet is installed. Padding is then rolled out and trimmed up to the tackstrips.
