Good morning. I am new here on this DoItYourself forum. I think this is going to be a grand spot to find answers. I am wondering if anyone knows the best way to conceal ugly cords to lamps,tv's and other appliances , especially in the living room. I am cleaning for Thanksgiving and once again despise the unsightful cords.
Thanks for any help.
Polly

I've seen a few covers and whatnot
I'm not sure how they well they conceal, but if I find a link I'll post it up
I would think the cover would draw as much attention as the cord
...but at least you don't see the cord(s)
Unfortunately I have to use many extension cords (1800s house...quaint but not practical lol)
I have found that by using these little hook/clip type things I keep them against the wall as much as possible
You can still see the cords (if you look), but your eye is not drawn to them
A subtle distinction, but more effective than one might think
Sometimes it means using a longer cord to keep it against the wall, but it's worth it
Also I try and use white cords against the white trim and brown against the stained trim
Again subtle, but it helps
I have seen the clips under a few names like cord "staples" and cord clips
If I run across any cover-ups I'll post up

I guess a trip to Home Depot and or to use the " clips" as you say. We have a 1920's home with a LOT of dark woodwork, and yes, extension( sorry for the mispelling in the title!!).......extension cords are used a lot. When you say " clips, what are you referring to? We also have a telephone stand, where we have several large cords. that may be a problem in concealing them.

Adhesive cord clips:

I couldn't find a link to any of the "staple" kind
For the cord covers you may want to check out an office supply store
I think you'd be more likely to find them there
