I have a Caloric gas oven which I understand is now Amana. Last week the timer buzzer started randomly buzzing on its own, without the timer being set. It is completely random, and goes from a faint buzz, to almost full volume and stays on steady. The only way to shut it off is pull the plug, but then the igniters do not work. Otherwise, the stove works fine if you can stand the buzz. Only other symptom is, while it is in this random buzzing mode, you cannot set the timer, it defaults to the clock setting only. When you do pull the plug, there is about a 4 or 5 second delay before the buzzer actually fades to off, which indicates to me some sort of backup battery pack. Anyone else ever experienced this? And, is there any easy way to get access to the control panel other than disconnecting the gas and pulling out the stove?
Any help or suggestions appreciated.

Hello John and Welcome to the Do It Yourself Web Site and my Gas Appliances topic.
Is there a failure code displayed?
Most likely the ERC is defective. Electronic Range Control (ERC) - Replace the Electronic Range Control/Clock (ERC).
No battery backup but there are capcitors on the circuit board which hold a charge. Use caution.

Retail parts dealers and appliances parts stores can also help determine what the possible problem may be based upon that specific brand and model. Bring the make, model and serial numbers. Dealers and appliances parts stores are listed in the phone book.
Additional Suggestions:
Read the manufacturers online web site for product information, problem possibilities, causes, solving methods, part locations, disassembly, reassembly methods, repair procedures, pictorials, schematics, repair and or owners manuals which may be available online.
Cautionary Note:
Before attempting any repairs, be sure to unplug the appliance from the wall receptacle power source first.
