I have a Hotpoint gas oven that is almost two years old. I recently noticed that the oven ignites and burns for ten seconds or so and shuts off. This repeats every twenty minutes or so. The burner dial is in the off postion and appears to work properly when used. If it's supposed to work like this I never noticed. Unless you are standing close by the oven you would never hear it ignite. What's up with this?
