I would like to install my own carpet.
A) Does anyone know of good detailed literature and how to. Either book or website.
B) Can anyone recommend best place to purchase and brands of carpet installation tools. Used tools would be fine.
C) Can carpets be seamed with hot glue gun instead of conventional glue tape and hot iron ? If not why not.

A) www.carpet-rug.com
B) pawn shop
C) no, it won't hold, it's very inconvenient and messy, iron and tape is the easiest way to do it.

I rent it all. Sometimes you can talk the people you buy the carpet from into giving you a deal or even for free. Just make sure you have it planned out so you don't need to rent it more than one day.
