On the fascia of my 3rd story deck I applied 12" aluminum, over a 49 foot run, so that I wouldn't have to paint again. I nailed it on. Now it looks kind of "wavey" with expansion and contraction. Does anybody have any tricks for applying aluminum so it doesn't do this? Thanks for your time!

Aluminum is going to expand when warm and contract when cold. You have to allow for that by cutting slots in it, then soft nailing the slots. And don't use any more nails that what's necessary to hold it in place.

I've wrapped facia (down the face, across the underside, and a return up the back side) and attached each 10' length with 2 nails (one near each eand) in slots. Never have a "wave" problem.
