My husband and I just bought an older house and when the carpet was pulled up there is newspaper sticking to a painted wood floor. Most of the paper is removable but certain areas the ink and some paper residue won't come up. Anyone know how to solve this dilemma? :wall:

Try mineral spirits or charcoal lighter fluid on a rag and wip with the grain of the wood.
If that doesn't do it, sand and refinish.
