HI
I am planning to install engineer wood floor (mannington, Jamestown) in my new condo. My unit is in the second floor. I believe my subfloor is light weight concrete. I wonder if I should use glue down or floating technique. Any pros and cons? I am also thinking to install it in the kitchen area. I am not sure if that is good idea. Any recommendations on that?

Float it, gluing to gypcrete is a recipe for failure.

What does your condo association say about hard surface flooring on the upper levels?

Make sure your HOA allows wood/tile floors on the upper units. My association and my friend's association has it against CC&Rs/byLaws. I was reviewing old HOA newsletter and they made some people remove their hardwood flooring and install carpet throughout.

thanks for your suggestions. I never think about condo association rule before.
