Of course quick-step wants you to use their underlayment. They only seem to offer (at least that I can find) combo underlayments with a moisture block built in. Now if you installing on a plywood subfloor they recommend slicing the underlayment.
This seems a little odd to me, I would rather install a correct underlayment for my environment then the wrong one and cut it.
Should I go with their recommendation since it is technically the way to do it for their warranty? Or should I get a more appropriate underlayment for my environment. Cork or a sound foam?
Any ideas?

Personally, I would go with the recommendation per their instructions for the warranty but you could always call them and ask them too.
