I had a very expensive berber carpet installed, and the installers put in a 1 1/2 inch bright gold metal carpet strip to transition from the carpet to the tile (light grey carpet and light grey tile). It looks terrible and is the only place in the house that has this installed (I have berber in the family room and rec room with no carpet strips). Does anyone know if this can be removed and the carpet glued to make a smooth transition in accordance with the rest of the carpet in the house? Also, given there is not a difference in height problem, does anyone know why they would do this? Thanks!

Call the dealer and tell them that metal at a tile transition is improper and you would like the carpet tucked to the tile. Now on the other hand if the tile edge is not straight, ask for a vinyl T-cap moulding in grey.
