Two Items: Painted concrete garage floor - I'd like to clean it up, make it look nicer. Do I have to remove ALL the paint before applying one of those garage floor surfacing products? How do I prep the painted floor before applying?
Garage Floor Lip (under door). Right now the concrete is cracking. I want to fill the cracks and smooth out this area. There is a slight hump to keep the water from flowing into the garage. Any advice?

The painted floor will require whatever the manufacturer of the new product directs for preparation. Usually, sound paint needs to be cleaned and perhaps etched. Just check the label on the new product for guidance.

There is a product called a concrete resurfacer that can be applied to refresh the surface of concrete that needs a facelift. This should help dress the cracked area if these are surface cracks. If they are deeper, then a patching compound would repair them prior to the resurfacing.
