so i found a running weed eater in my lane today. and it just so hapens i am taking steel fab at school.
so i am thinking of making a small gocart. kinda like a bar stool racer. but as small and light as i can. the problum is i am not shure if it would ahve enuff power....i want to make this thing realy small. the drive shaft is a 1/2 inch and i cant find a clutch to fit it. so i was thinking of makign a jackshaft so i can gear it down 2 times befor the wheel. usning v belts and pullys.
anouther idea i had was to steel the tourq converter off this moped i have and put it on the other side of the jack shaft... would this work?
thanks for any help. or links.

weed eater ones, dont have a piston ring in them, atleast the ones I have worked on.
So they degrade very quickly with power, torq.
I have a friend who has a friend who builds bar stool racers, they use a 5 hp briggs for theirs.

weed eater brand! no piston ring, weird, they should have a piston ring. 5hp briggs, a classic good engine to use
